His starting Green Sheet average is 7.16.<\/p>\n<p>Allen collected the league and cup double for Somerset in his first season of British Speedway in 2016. He signed for Scunthorpe in late 2017 and also rode for Scorpions in 2018 and 2019 and quickly developed into one of the most popular riders for the club.<\/p>\n<p>He travelled over to Britain for the 2020 season \u2013 aborted due to Covid \u2013 and decided he could not afford to make another potentially wasted journey from Australia the following year. By the time it was clear that the 2021 season would take place and he had a change of mind, Scunthorpe had already brought in Jake\u2019s friend Josh Macdonald in his place and Jake went to Redcar instead.<\/p>\n<p>Allen returned to the Eddie Wright Raceway in 2022 to race for the Attis Insurance Scorpions and will spend a third successive season for the club in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: \u201cJake has been a very reliable heat-leader for our club and I fully expect him to hold down that position again with Scorpions in 2024.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe\u2019s very much become a recognisable part of Scunthorpe Speedway and he\u2019s built up a good rapport with our supporters. Jake is an intelligent rider and he can score points anywhere.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe will be a key part of what I\u2019m convinced is another Scunthorpe team that can push for silverware, following our victory in the Cup in 2023.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Scunthorpe Scorpions 2024 confirmed starters:<br \/>\nJake Allen 7.16<br \/>\nSimon Lambert 5.87<br \/>\nLuke Harrison 2.00<\/p>\n<p>* THE draw for the 2024 Knockout Cup has been made.
