{"id":3282,"date":"2024-12-14T07:29:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-14T07:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/speedwayhub.com\/?p=3282"},"modified":"2024-12-14T07:29:00","modified_gmt":"2024-12-14T07:29:00","slug":"ritchings-in-brimingham-return-as-he-signs-for-the-bulls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/speedwayhub.com\/ritchings-in-brimingham-return-as-he-signs-for-the-bulls\/","title":{"rendered":"Ritchings in Brimingham return as he signs for the Bulls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FORMER title winner Darryl Ritchings has opted to ride for Birmingham as part of their National Development Trophy team in his comeback campaign.<\/p>\n<p>The Wiltshire born racer is the first name confirmed for the Ductair Bulls\u2019 side &#8211; the day after he was announced by Oxford in the third tier as he returns to shale racing for the first time in eight years.<\/p>\n<p>Ritchings was a part of the Brummies\u2019 memorable 2016 team who won the National League and hasn\u2019t raced competitively since he quit the sport part way through 2017.<\/p>\n<p>But whilst continuing with other motorsport disciplines whilst starting a family, he now has the speedway bug back and will be a very welcome face back at Perry Barr.<\/p>\n<p>Ductair Bulls team manager Laurence Rogers said: \u201cI\u2019ve known Darryl since he started racing and he attended my training schools at Newport initially.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe then rode for me for the Hornets and later Coventry Storm and he\u2019s always been great to work with.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI saw him ride on the grass last year and we got talking and we recently discussed his comeback at the Speedway Show at Gaydon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWhen we confirmed we were in the NDT, he was keen on coming back to Birmingham and it\u2019s good to have him back.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWith Oxford giving him a team spot in the NDL, he will be getting more track time which is just what he needs.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Bulls are expected to name a second rider for their NDT side at Friday\u2019s (December 13) BSSC Christmas Party at Aston Manor Cricket Club with full details available via the Birmingham Speedway Supporters Club Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Words and Feature Image by Birmingham Speedway<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FORMER title winner Darryl Ritchings has opted to ride for Birmingham as part of their National Development Trophy team in his comeback campaign.
