Triple Danish champion Anders Thomsen returns to the FIM Speedway Grand Prix stage for his home event \u2013 the Deluxe Homeart FIM Speedway GP of Denmark \u2013 Vojens on September 14.<\/p>\n

The Odense-born ace dons the famous No.16 race jacket for the penultimate round of the Speedway GP season on his Speedwayligaen home track.<\/p>\n

Thomsen competes for Vojens club S\u00f8nderjylland Elite Speedway alongside Speedway GP rival Leon Madsen, but it will be every Dane for himself when the SGP series returns to one of its most storied venues.<\/p>\n

Thomsen missed out on a Speedway GP return for this season after suffering a hand injury at the 2023 OlyBet FIM Speedway GP of Latvia \u2013 Riga, which ruled him out of the final three rounds of last year and left him 15th in the Speedway GP World Championship on 36 points.<\/p>\n

This cost him his place in the 2023 Deluxe Homeart FIM Danish Speedway GP, so he will be determined to make the most of his chance to shine in 2024 as he bids to emulate Madsen\u2019s popular home win at Vojens last season.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old has also shown he is more than capable of delivering big results on the sport\u2019s biggest stage, famously winning the 2022 FIM Speedway GP of Poland \u2013 Gorzow on his PGE Ekstraliga home track.<\/p>\n

He has been in fine form this season, averaging 2.183 points per race for Stal Gorzow. This puts him seventh in the average charts in the world\u2019s top speedway league \u2013 ahead of all but three members of the Speedway GP line-up.<\/p>\n

Thomsen also picked up his third Danish Championship this year, adding to his victories in the 2020 and 2021 national individual finals.<\/p>\n

He is joined in the Vojens line-up by track reserves \u2013 Danish internationals Frederik Jakobsen and Mads Hansen, who line up at No.17 and No.18 respectively. They will be called into action if any of the main 16 riders are forced out of races due to injury, illness, a starting offence or other reasons.<\/p>\n
